What is the full version of PWD

PWD: Public Works Department

PWD refers to the Public Works Department. It is an Indian Govt. of India department that is responsible for the construction as well as maintenance for public infrastructures, such as roads, government buildings bridges, water systems, bridges and much more. It is a central government agency which is accountable for all types of public sector work in India. To ensure safe drinking water for the city and repair the damaged water pipes is also the responsibility of the PWD. Additionally, if there is any damages to government schools roads, hospitals, schools, the repair is done by the PWD.

PWD is in every state of India. It is comprised of divisions, sub-divisions, as well as sections. In all states, it has basically the same duties and responsibilities, like construction and design of all public projects carried out by the Government, including building and developing roads, roads for safety, facilities for highways and roads as well as maintenance and restructuring of government buildings and buildings. This kind of work was was previously performed by the military in India.
